Everyone is welcome to join us online this New Year’s Eve.
Traditionally the New Year is a time for making a fresh start and reflecting on the direction we would like our life to take.
This free online session is an opportunity to reflect on our priorities and to begin the coming year in a way that is in tune with our deeper values and natural wish for deeper contentment and well-being in our lives. We will enter into the New Year with a guided Loving Kindness meditation for ourselves, our loved ones, and our world.
This event will be guided by Andrew Warr who, for many years, helped with the running of the New Years Retreat at Dzogchen Beara retreat centre in west Cork. The retreat includes making aspirations for the New Year in front of 108 butter lamps and we will have a live camera link to the Dzogchen Beara butter lamp house from this year’s retreat as an inspiration for our aspirations.
The schedule will be as follows:
- 23:00 – 23:25 Meditation and Contemplating and Clarifying our Aspirations for the Year Ahead.
- 23:25 – 11:30 Break
- 23:30 – 00:05 Meditation for Entering the New Year with Awareness, Kindness, and Compassion
Andrew Warr has had a regular meditation practice since 1974 and has been studying and practising Buddhist meditation since 1982. He has been teaching meditation for over 30 years and in 2001, he began to lead courses, seminars, and retreats, principally on the subject of loving kindness, in Europe, Australia and North America and continues to do so. With great clarity, warmth and humour, Andrew skillfully guides people through the teachings and practices, and shows how these can be applied to our everyday life.
